Duke Nukem Forever Plagued By Delay

By now I am sure many of you have heard or read that Duke Nukem Forever, is delayed once again. To those who have Duke Nukem Forever on pre-order and are a part of the First Access Club received an e-mail this morning featuring a video from Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, Executive Producer of the game announcing that Duke Nukem, is now shipping June 14. It’s kind of funny and nice to see a President of a company curse.

“It’s the unshippable game and we’re finally shi….”
“Duke never comes early.”
Watch the announcement video for yourself if you are not part of First Access Club.

In my opinion this is not a big deal. I personally felt as if Duke Nukem Forever was coming out too early even though it’s been in production a long time. The delay is a great marketing ploy and gives more time to polish up the game. Think about all of the games coming out in April and May.

Today, March 25, 2011 the Nintendo 3DS launches
April:
12 – Michael Jackson The Experience
18 – Bulletstorm owners get access to Gears 3 Beta
19 – Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 (Mortal Kombat will be the largest success.)
25 – Open Gears 3 Beta
May:
17 – L.A. Noire
June:
14 – Duke Nukem Forever

The calendar has a much better spread now and should be easier on everyone’s wallet. However, what I don’t understand is why internationally it ships June 10, and then I have to wait 4 extra days. Oh well, I am not complaining and neither should you!
